About Thrifty Pig
Thrifty Pig is a small, independent budgeting tool built in Australia, for the way Australians actually get paid — weekly, fortnightly, or monthly, with bills that refuse to arrive on a tidy schedule.
Why it exists
How many times have you sat down, worked out a budget, and found a fortnight later that the plan had already fallen apart? You rework it to catch up, and eventually you stop bothering.
Usually the budget wasn’t the problem. The maths behind it was. Spreading annual costs evenly across the year produces a number that looks reasonable and quietly leaves you short whenever a big bill lands sooner than the average assumed.
Thrifty Pig works forward from real due dates instead. It knows the difference between a bill due in eleven months and one due in three weeks, and it tells you before the shortfall happens rather than after.
What we believe
- A budget should make a promise it can keep. If it says you’re on track, the money should be there on the day.
- Your data stays yours. No bank logins, no selling your spending habits to anyone. You tell us what you earn and owe; that’s it.
- No guilt. Plenty of money apps are built to make you feel bad. This one just does the arithmetic and tells you the truth.
Where it’s up to
Thrifty Pig is being rebuilt from the ground up, and is currently in beta and free to use. If something is broken or confusing, that’s worth knowing about — feedback during beta genuinely shapes what gets built next.
